We are back from MisCon and it was a great success! Many thanks to cj_ruby for helping us at our merchant's tables. We had a lot of fun, got to meet some fans and catch up with friends including shadowhelm , and were very happy with our sales and the response we received.

Many of you may know that my husband Robert, with whom I share the helm of 4 Winds, has been having health problems as of late. The good news is that he's finally received a diagnosis, is undergoing treatment, and is starting to feel better (though he has 12-18 months of recovery time ahead of him). The bad news is that his day job had to let him go because he's unable to meet the physical demands of the job. But, there's always a silver lining, and that lining is that 4 Winds is now Robert's full time job!

Since it's been so long since I updated this journal, I thought I'd recap our latest releases. Phantasia Zoologica I: Dogs is a POD booklet of dog descriptions and stat blocks. Strategists and Tacticians: The Definitive Guide to Clever Warriors is our 5th print book, written by Ryan Costello, Jr., featuring combat variations for all character classes, a dozen new prestige classes, and new combat maneuvers. In the past 48 hours, we've released two new PDF products: Player's Aid III: Nature's Ally Summoning Cards and GM's Aid IX: Universal Monster Rules and Simple Template Cards. As always, you can get these products, along with our other releases, at DriveThruRPG, Paizo Publishing, Your Games Now, and IPR.

Future plans: I'm currently working on layout for our first adventure module, Albion Armitage's Astounding Arsenal. Then will come new additions to the Phantasia Zoologica line, The Apothecary's Handbook, and our next print product, Tome of Monsters. We also hope to have some more very exciting announcements soon!

We are considering attending another con this fall, either Valley Con 36 in Fargo, ND in October, or Neoncon in Las Vegas in November.

Finally, if you're on Facebook, please become a fan (or "like", I guess they're calling it now) our fan page. We update the Facebook page quite frequently!

With much regret, we've had to cancel our appearance in the dealers room at Fargo Core Con April 16-18. Robert has been suffering for the past month with a yet-to-be diagnosed ailment that is causing him much pain, and has kept him home from his day job. We had hoped that the doctor's appointment he had yesterday would provide us some answers and a treatment, but all we came away with were more questions and more appointments - no answers and no relief. We cannot travel as far away as Fargo with him in such poor health.

We are still very hopeful that all will be settled by MisCon (Memorial Day weekend) and that we will be able to go.

Luven Lightfinger's Gear and Treasure Shop is getting rave reviews! So far we'd had three reviews - 1 at DriveThruRPG, 2 at Paizo - and all have been a full 5 of 5 stars! Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway!) we are absolutely thrilled with the reaction. We are very proud of this book!

Coming out next will be a PDF-only product, Phantasia Zoologica I: Dogs, the first in our line of fantasy animal supplements. We are just waiting on the last piece of artwork, then it will be ready to release!

I'm currently working on layout for Strategists and Tacticians: The Definitive Guide to Clever Warfare. We are excited to be publishing this book written by Ryan Costello, Jr., of the 3.5 Sanctuary and the Know Direction podcasts. Pending the arrival of the artwork, we hope to have this one out in early April.

Just a reminder that we will be attending Fargo Core Con April 16-18, and MisCon May 28-31. We will have copies of all our print books for sale, as well as a selection of dice bags made by yours truly. For anyone already doing their budgeting for the merchant rooms and trying to figure out how to pay for what, I want to let you know that we will be accepting most Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards, as well as cash and personal checks (checks accepted ONLY with proper ID). 

Our 4th book, Luven Lightfinger's Gear and Treasure Shop, is now available in PDF format in all our usual sales locations (see the links in the sidebar of our main journal page)! The physical books are still incoming from the printers, but you can pre-order a print copy at Paizo or IPR (or if you just can't wait, you can order one directly from Lulu!).

In other exciting news, we have officially decided to attend Core Con in the Fargo/Moorhead (ND/MN) area April 16-18! We will also be at MisCon 24 (Missoula, MT) May 28-31. We hope to see you there!

I thought I better post an update here, while I'm taking a short break from work!

We are currently putting the finishing touches on Luven Lightfinger's Gear and Treasure Shop with a tentative release date of March 1! The next print product in line is Strategists and Tacticians, which is already fully written and is just waiting on editing, art, and layout. We hope to have that out by the end of April.

In our PDF-only product line, we're just waiting on some artwork before releasing Phantasia Zoologica I: Dogs, the first in a line of fantasy animal supplements. Also in the works are Summon Nature's Ally cards and a supplement on medicial herbs.

Appearance-wise, we obviously did not make it to RadCon this past weekend. We couldn't get into the dealers' room, and there's really no point in us going to a con if we can't try to recoup our costs. MisCon 24 over Memorial Day weekend in Missoula, MT, is still 100% a go. We are seriously considering attending Core Con in Fargo ND/Moorehead MN April 16-18 - our dealer room application has been approved, apparently, so now we just need to crunch the numbers and see if we can make the trip.

We've recently learned that there will be no Game Faire in Helena, MT, this fall. There is talk of moving Game Faire to Great Falls - if so, you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be there!

We just want to take a moment to wish all of our friends and supporters the happiest of holiday seasons! Eat, drink, be merry, enjoy your time with friends and family, and most of all, stay safe and sound (and warm, for those of you getting winter weather!).

Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone! (for those outside the US, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!) I hope you were all able to enjoy some good food and good company. We here at the house of 4 Winds are very thankful for all the support you've shown us this year!

We got Paths of Power onto the streets just in time for Black Friday, and much to our delight, it's been selling like hotcakes ever since! It's available at all the usual places, plus we have also just hooked up with Your Games Now as a PDF sales outlet.

Since we're in the holiday mood around these parts, we've decided to have a sale! All products - print and PDF - are 10% now through New Year's at all our sales outlets! (Exception: Lulu, Amazon, and B&N, where we can't control the prices.) Ten percent may not sound like a lot, but my cousin just bought five print books directly from us, and ended up saving almost 10 bucks! Get 'em while the gettin' is good!

We will be on the road starting Saturday to visit family, so we may be hard to get a hold of (going to visit my folks means no internet except Robert's Blackberry!). If you really need to contact us, a phone call will be best. If it's not urgent, we'll be back home on the 11th or 12th, and we'll get to it then!
